Tall Guys typically need more room on their bikes. Bikes designed for riders around 5’10” tall are cramped for guys over the 6’ mark. The Fastway Evolution Air Footpegs are one way to address this issue, giving taller riders the option to create more room on their bike.

What’s Good About the Fastway Evolution Air Footpegs
Room For a taller guy creating more room on the bike is crucial. Tall seats and high bars can make your bike handle weird, especially in corners. The Fastway Evolution Air Footpegs create 1/2” of extra space between the footpegs and seat. This may not sound like much, but it makes your bike feel like a completely different bike by allowing you to sit and stand easier and making the standing positions more comfortable.
Replaceable Cleats When your cleats become worn and slippery you can simply buy Fastway’s replacement cleats or go up to your local hardware store and find the correct size set screw to replace them. This is much easier than filing or grinding your footpegs to sharpen them and much less expensive than buying new footpegs.
Adjustable Camber This can be tricky to set up, but allows you to customize the angle your footpegs are set at. This allows you to adjust for comfort and desired grip. The more your peg is angled toward the bike, the easier it is to grip your bike with your knees. Allowing riders to pick a camber that works best for them is something only Fastway’s footpegs offer.
Color Options For every brand of bike you have the choice between silver, red, blue, black or orange. This allows you to pick your favorite color or the color you think will look best with your bike’s color scheme.
Weight The Fastway Evolution Air Footpegs weigh nearly half of what the Fastway Evolution 3 Footpegs weigh. The difference is only 5 oz, which isn’t much, but between two pegs it comes to 2/3 lb. This small difference in weight is unnoticeable and unimportant, but at least with the Evolution Air Footpegs you won’t be adding weight to your bike.
Are they any good if you don’t want lowered footpegs?
If you want to run the Evolution Air pegs in the standard position they still offer a few features that set them apart from most of the competition. These features, mentioned above, are the ability to pick a color, adjustable camber and the replaceable cleats. No other company offers the customization and ease of maintenance that the Evolution Air pegs offer.
Problems I had with Fastway Evolution 3 Footpegs, but haven’t had with the Evolution Air Footpegs
I had a couple of problems with the Fastway Evolution 3 footpegs. First and most importantly, even with the supplied red loctite, I had one of my camber bolts fall out. Second the collar that the pin goes through would loosen up, get tight in the bracket and cause the peg to not fold as easily. I am happy to say I haven’t had either of these issues with the Fastway Evolution Air Footpegs.
Final Thoughts on the Fastway Evolution Air Footpegs
I want to thank Fastway for selling a product that helps create more room for us taller riders. If you’re looking for more room on your bike, you really can’t go wrong spending the money on a set of Fastway Evolution Air Footpegs.
